I loved the stitching and the misting on this sketch, and couldn't wait to get started! Here's my layout:
This layout celebrates our youngest granddaughter's 2nd year as the District Cross Country Champion for her school and her age division. We are so proud of her!
I started off by stitching three corners of my background paper and making the ink droplets with Heidi Swapp's Color Shine Bronzer. I took the branding strip from the American Crafts Amy Tan/Ready Set Go patterned paper "Dress Code", and placed it along the bottom of the layout. I had just used that patterned paper on my last layout, and the branding strip was on the top of my scrap pile, and it was perfect! I found other scraps in my stash that matched the colors from the corner pattern on the background paper. From there I decided to straighten out the design, turn it 180 degrees and do a bit of layering. I'm very happy with the results.
The photos on this layout are a bit different for me. I have always printed my photos from Shutterfly or Snapfish in a 4X6 size. But I'm finding that I want to add more photos to my layouts, and many of the sketches that I use and that are offered only use one photo. So I'm going to try to print out some of my own photos at home here and there, so I can use various sizes on my layouts. It's usually easy enough to adapt a sketch to fit your needs, like I did with Bev's sketch! Now it's your turn!
I hope you all have a great week, and we are anxious to see what you come up with for this week's sketch! Keep scrapping . . . . . one layout at a time!
